14.11.1751 à Wattwil, 1.11.1826 à Wattwil, prot., de Wattwil. Fils de Georg, agriculteur et salpêtrier. Susanna Barbara Abderhalden, fille d'un marchand-fabricant en coton. A. fut responsable des achats et ventes chez A. Biedermann & Cie à Winterthour de 1780 à 1790, puis fonda à Wattwil sa propre manufacture cotonnière. Marchand-fabricant prospère, A. ouvrit une filiale à Saint-Gall en 1819. L'entreprise resta dans la famille pendant trois générations.
